there's still hope (again)

i thought a couple of the clipse joints i posted weren't really rarities, but i was surprised to hear that a grip of people had not heard "guns 'n roses". with that in mind, i decided to drop some more (possibly) not so common clipse/star trak joints.
"come go with me" | pharrell f/ the clipse
"definition of a roller" | the clipse
"only god can judge me" | rosco p. coldchain f/ pharrell
"pass the mic" | pusha t
"pussy" | rosco p. coldchain f/ pharrell
"soldiers ride" | big j f/ the clipse
"stuntin' ya'll" | the clipse f/ pharrell
"where you been" | the clipse
if you didn't pick up pharrell's mixtape with dj drama, then you might have never heard "come go with me". personally, the mixtape was stronger than the actual record, both in production and pharrell's ability on the mic. pharrell going over classic rza material seemed to work better than him going over his own work. either way, pharrell brought the clipse to sprinkle verses on his mixtape and of course, they brought the product. "no jumper, still at the top of the key/ no wonder, they thought we was shooting them threes/ throw numbers, sell it for the deuce and the three/ like air jordan, it's all in the wrist turning keys/ you modern day, chardonnay sippers/ we throwin' up our middles screamin' fuck them other niggas." egchk!
"definition of a roller" was one of the earlier tracks recorded for hell hath no fury and was one of the many victims to be shelved before the actual release. in a way, i'm glad it never made the record because they let some coke carrier named miles spit the middle verse. the neptunes bodied the production though.
i don't know when (or if) rosco p. coldchain is going to drop his solo record, but he's released some strong joints in preparation. personally, "only god can judge me" is the coldchain in his best form as a mc. it's looks like famlay is definitely going to release his solo, so i'm thinking coldchain is next in line. if he keeps making joints like this, it'll be worth the wait.
pusha t goes for dolo over "pass the mic" from the dj green lantern/beastie boys mixtape new york state of mind. since the we got it 4 cheap mixtape series, people have been calling for pusha to go solo. if he ever does, this was the preview and he proved that he can handle a song on his own. "rap's my foreplay, hustlin's my forte/ he under the pyrex cane look like sorbet/ verses like anthems, they chant them/ bitches at the bus stop say 'em at random/ i'm the ghetto's champion got the streets ravin' and rantin'/ i'm four bricks away from that phantom, my re-up."
"pussy" is single-handedly one of the most misogynistic joints i have ever heard come from star trak, but shiiiiiit, that beat is infectious.
unfortunately, i have never been able to acquire this in mp3, but look, it's a slim thug sighting! pusha t bodies this joint. this is like listening to nas on "verbal intercourse" on raekwon's only built 4 cuban linx. you should just stop listening after pusha's verse because that's how good it is. i'm just kidding (maybe), skip over the middle verse and get to malice's verse though.
"stuntin' ya'll" was another victim of the hell hath no fury struggle. it can be commonly found and it would have sounded out of place had they thrown it in, but damn, "stuntin' ya'll" is a gully joint. once gain, the neptunes bodied the production on this.
"where you been" is the infamous sample jay-z era joint. i was never a fan of this movement and the joint sounds like it was made in piano roll on fruity loops, but the clipse do what they do. i'm not sure if this was a demo for hell hath no fury or where it came from. either way, i'm glad it stayed where it did, in the rare/unreleased bin.
