"all i wanna do" | the clipse
"guns n roses" | the clipse
"i don't blame you for shinin' and grindin'" | the clipse
"i'm serious" | the clipse
"pussy" | the clipse
"popular thug" | kelis f/ pusha t
"star" | 702 f/ the clipse
"in the midnight hour" | tashai have no idea when we got it 4 cheap vol. 3: spirit of competition is going to drop, but these clipse rarities should hold you over for a minute. i don't even know why i'm awake. i just got back from the club, but my head is still spinning.
"all i wanna do" sounds like an exclusive audio footage joint because of the rawness in pusha's voice. back when he was known as terrar, pusha was young and hopeful. how shit has changed over the years. equally as raw was the neptunes production complete with pharrell crooning the hook.
"guns n roses" is one of the most vicious joints i have ever heard from the clipse. not exactly a rarity, but everybody needs to hear this one. two verses don't get better than this.
i'm not usually a fan of mash ups especially after every dj/producer took a stab at the black album, but this "keys open doors"/"grindin"/cat power mash up is one of the most impressive pieces of remix work i have ever heard.
"i'm serious" isn't exactly a rarity as it can be found on the cradle to the grave soundtrack. wait... that would probably qualify it as a rarity then since that movie was basura. first things first, the production is simple, but jimmy conway certified "g". in terms of soundtrack work, i prefer "pussy" and "guns and roses", but malice's verses show exactly why kids need to stop sleeping on him.
"pussy" is another joint that isn't exactly a rarity, but it hits so hard that i wanted to include it on this list. get familiar. "can't hide the truth, descendants of pain/ so ya'll get exposed like the sons of hussein." egchk! how did this not get to be on hell hath no fury?
everybody knows how out of place nas sounded on "popular thug". the neptunes did nice work on the boards for this, but they should have left pusha t on it.
i have no idea who 702 is, but the neptunes gifted them a banger. man, i miss the days when the neptunes handed out top notch joints to everybody.
"in the midnight hour" isn't a clipse rarity, but you might have seen the youtube video of pharrell composing this joint. it's more of a star trak rarity because i don't think tasha ever got a chance to exist to the masses, but pharrell crafted a masterpiece here. he put down the keys, drums, and even penned the verses. chad showed up to add some guitars and other essentials, but if you watch the youtube video, you'll have a new appreciation for the work that pharrell puts into music. i would have just given him the song. it was better than the entirety of in my mind.
